    Spastic colon and hypoglycemia

    Hi Dr,

I would like to enquire about a healthy eating plan for me. i have a spastic colon and low blood sugar ( hypoglycemic). The Doctor I visited refused to refer me to a dietician because I am not diabetic. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Rgards

You should try to eat small meals at more regular intervals to keep your blood glucose levels constant. I would suggest eating something small every 2.5-3 hours. Also eating foods with a low glycaemic index will allow sugar to be absorbed more slowly thus decreasing hypoglaemic episodes. Try to eat a small fruit (apples, pears, oranges) and a small yogurt in between main meals. Please send me an email so that i can send you a more comprehensive eating plan.

As for spastic colon, I would advise that you keep a food journal and assess which foods trigger symptoms and then avoid those foods
