    toddler refuses to talk

hi,so were discussing a boy.it is very common 4 boys to be lazy when it comes to expressing themselves.my so was 22 mths when i gav birth to my 3rd child,he was nt happy bout the situation nd refused to speak,he would just point at what he wanted,he only started speaking in full sentences at 4yrs cause he went to kindergarten,he's teacher wouldnt believe me when i told her bout hes problem cause she said he used perfect speech nd full sentences at school, without her needing to coax him, apparently he could speak all along but just wantd 2 b the baby a little bit longer, thus feighning regrettion.

Hi there. I am a speech-language therapist and I suggest that you start speech therapy as soon as possible. I recommend that you sit in the therapy sessions and observe so that you can reinforce what the therapist has focused on, at home. Also ask your therapist for a weekly home programme.

Lol . Sounds like my son . He was 3yrs n still not talkin. He's 7yrs now n we cant get him to shut his trap up. Goes on 19 to the dozen ,yappity yap yap. Just hang in there , it will happen when he's ready. Uve done lotsa tests n all is fine.N important thing is he IS verbalising a Few words , so no probs there. Just continue Talking to him in full sentences . No baby talk. If he points n says 'there, there' help him by You verbalisin in an entire sentenc what He wants to say. Hang in there And Most importantly , Please DON'T compare his development to other kids his age.

    Toddler not yet talking

Slms, I would like to hear other mums experience with a similar issue...my 2year 8mth old son is not yet talking. He can only say the ffg words: mumma, papa, car, truck, duck, star, tractor, scooter, tiger. He knows and understands EVERYTHING! But just cannot speak it. He points to watever he wants and other than that, the entire day he wil be saying 'that that that ther' he has a full on coversation like in that way just sayn 'that that that ther'. He is NOT tongue tied. He is NOT autistic, his ears are fine, he has been for a speech therepy assesment, and the therepist adcised to start speech therepy(which i will be doing wen he turns 3) . For now, id like to hear other parents feedback woth regards to this. Jazakallah.
