ihi...i hired a car recently,,,paid a deposit of 2500.,,during my lease another driver tailgated me and broke the rear light,,,however he is 60 n a pensioner,,,i have an accident report,,,,the rental guys called the errant driver in n he made arrangements with them to sort the light out,,,,,however,the rental guys dont want to give my deposit back.....they want me to get the other driver to write a letter in which he claims responsibility for the damage n then they will consider giving my deposit,,,,i've tried on many occasions to speak to the driver but he swears me n puts his fone off....i cannot get thru to this driver and the rental co.s not understanding my predicament....acc. to police i cant open a case as an accident report has been opened already....they cannot get involved because it is not a criminal matter....the rental co.fail to realise this....is there any-one out there who can help me,,,,,all help and advice will be greatly appreciated.....
