sickle cell anemia

Hi doctor...i am a sickle cell anemic patient which depresses me alot as my hair is very brittle and thin and refuses to grow :-( :-( other then that doctors say even if the put me on medication it won't help as i have less red blood cells :'( is there anything that can be done to pick my iron level and in the future will i be able to get pregnant :-( :-(
