Make sure your father in law gets lots of liquid. Freshly juiced veggies in the morning particulary carrot, apple, ginger would be instant meal for him. Let him sip slowly. Ginger is a natural anti-emetic so perhaps have him bite on ginger biscuits. Let him have small frequent meals. let him eat slowly foods that are easy to digest. fish, lightly spiced dhal, cooked rice, baked potato. maybe make him rice with vegetables lightly spiced, foods must be tasty, not overspiced or bland. If he can, let him take honey every day, it goes from the stomach straight into the blood stream and gives instant nourishment. if he likes fruit, perhaps make him a salad with pawpaw cucumber carrot apple.

If he suffers from constipation, make him a stew of dried apricots: put apricots in a small pot, cover some water, let it cook gently til soft, add some sugar and simmer, once sugar is dissolved and well incorpated into syrup, let him have as needed.

He may get grumpy as treatment progresses as this is one of the worst things anyone can endure. If someone can give him a light massage with grapeseed oil, it will help him feel better. All the best. if you need info, mail me at sweetmagicwoman@hotmail.com.
