Hi

I heard that raspberry leaf tea is very good for strengthening contractions during labour. It can be taken from the third trimester? Any truth to this?

I do not have much knowledge about the use of raspberry leaf tea during pregnancy in all honesty. I read an article about its actions and use at babycentre.co.uk. You can read the full article yourself but in a nutshell it says that it doesn't strengthen contractions and should not induce labour, instead it helps to tone the muscles of the uterus so assisting labour to progress at a nice steady pace. It should be taken in moderation from 32 weeks, BUT you need to consult with your dr/gynae/midwife about this. There is also a list of do's and don't so I would advise that you read this article first and then get the go ahead from your gynae before you use anything
