My 12 year old daughter has been having sharp pain on one side of her head, only when she fasts. What could be the cause

In Tibb we say that fasting has a heating and drying effect on the body as a result of detoxification. This will often stimulate nose bleeds, migraine headaches etc. She needs to eat more "cooling" foods at night and in the morning to overcome the heat. So avoiding spicy foods and reducing the amount of chicken, drinking lots of water in the evening and having a salad (cucumber, lettuce and carrots are cooling foods) with her meals should help.

As she is a preteen, she will naturally have more heat in her body as her body is currently undergoing lots of changes and growth etc. She can use a concoction formula to eliminate excess heat. you can make an infusion of 2tsp of dried coriander in 1 cup of hot water, covered for an hour (or you can leave it overnight and have it at sehri). Strain and add honey. This should be repeated for 3 days. Please note that she may feel worse during these 3 days. On the 4th day she needs to take a natural laxative like senna or Tibb laxotabs. If she takes laxotabs she needs to use it for 3 days.
