Ferial Moola Is there a way to cure oneself of insulin resistance. My sisters doctor took one look at me, my pimples and said that I have pcos. I haven't investigated further but don't want to be on diabetic medication.

You should have an ultrasound done to confirm whether you have PCOS and a blood test to confirm insulin resistance
I am currently reviewing a natural product for insulin resistance
So far the results and information received is amazing (I am using this product myself, in conjunction with a balanced diet for weight loss)
While I wait for this product to be launched their is another natural product that you can use with similar ingredients. It is used in the treatment of Diabetes and works wonderfully for my patients. It's called Glucostop. And it's available at dischem
Insulin resistance is largely due to poor lifestyle choices. Try to exercise 3-4 times per week for 30 minute sessions, eat a well balanced diet etc

What about the effectiveness of the product antagolin? It has been recommended to me but I am concerned as it is a new drug and long term side effects are unknown.

Antagolin was prescribed to me for insulin resistance. I am concerned as it a a new drug and long term side effects are unknown. Dr Joy, would you recommend it?

If not, please could you recommend alternatives. Glucophage makes me terribly ill.

Dear Aisha

As i have told another guest on this forum, Antagolin is not a drug, it is a herbal formula. However, as they have not disclosed one of their ingredients i cant recommend or discourage it's use. I usually recommend glucostop which is a herbal medication used in the treatment of diabetes but it's ingredients have shown to be effective in the treatment of insulin resistance
